Before becoming an economist at the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, Baltimore’s Dan Mcgregor created an automated chat-generating program and spearheaded a range of development, installation, testing, and documentation initiatives as a software engineer with Technologies Engineering. Dan Mcgregor of Baltimore is proficient in many areas of computer engineering, including algorithms and graphical user interfaces, and many computer languages, including Java and Visual Basic.

Mr. Mcgregor’s work in economics centered on government oversight and public policy. He holds a master of arts in international economic relations with a primary concentration in political economy from American University. He also earned two bachelor of arts degrees, one in economics and the other in government/politics, both from the University of Maryland at College Park. In addition to his history of attending the Joint Statistical Meeting of the American Statistical Association, he holds membership in the American Economic Association and the Association for Computing Machinery.
